Baker
Job Summary: The Baker is responsible for preparing and baking a variety of bread, pastries, and other baked goods in accordance with recipes and quality standards. This role requires a strong understanding of baking techniques, attention to detail, and a commitment to food safety and sanitation. The ideal candidate will have creativity, a passion for baking, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Baking and Preparation:
Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods, including breads, pastries, cakes, and cookies.
Follow recipes and adjust ingredient quantities to meet production needs.
Ensure all baked items are produced to the highest quality and presentation standards.
Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory levels of baking ingredients and supplies, assisting with ordering as needed.
Maintain an organized and clean work area, ensuring proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
Food Safety and Hygiene:
Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations at all times.
Ensure cleanliness of all baking equipment, utensils, and work surfaces.
Quality Control:
Conduct taste tests and quality checks on baked goods to ensure flavor and consistency.
Make adjustments to recipes based on feedback and quality assessments.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other kitchen staff to coordinate production schedules and ensure timely delivery of baked goods.
Assist in training and mentoring junior bakers and apprentices.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; a culinary degree with a focus on baking or pastry arts is preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a bakery or culinary environment, with a focus on baking.
Experience in a high-volume production bakery is advantageous.
