Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed reports, designs, and drawings for various construction projects.
- Calculate pressures, loads, and stresses to determine the optimal structural design.
- Analyze and select appropriate construction materials, considering their strength and sustainability.
- Provide technical advice on safe designs and construction processes.
- Obtain planning permission and ensure designs comply with building regulations.
- Analyze configurations of the key structural components and suggest modifications as needed.
- Liaise with architects, engineers, and other professionals to ensure design and construction alignment.
- Monitor and inspect construction work to ensure structural soundness and adherence to design specifications.
- Manage project contracts, timelines, and budgets efficiently.
- Inspect properties to evaluate foundation conditions and structural integrity.
- Use computer-aided design (CAD) software for simulations and design purposes.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (essential).
- 3-5 years of work experience as a Structural Engineer (essential).
- Professional registration with the Institute of Structural Engineers.
- Proven project management experience.
- Advanced knowledge of construction methods, materials, and relevant legal regulations.
- Strong understanding of physics and mathematics.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other disciplines and professionals.
- Excellent three-dimensional conceptual skills and design aptitude.
- Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to handle pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and IT skills, with proficiency in CAD software.
- Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM).
- Knowledge of sustainable building practices.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.
