Job Description

Our client is Kingfisher, a British multinational home improvement company, headquartered in London. The organization is currently expanding the Cloud Engineering team and, as part of this initiative, we are currently seeking a skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join our ranks.
In this role, you will play an integral part in our innovative tech hub, engaging with various aspects of technology. The position is a hybrid one, based in Cluj, requiring office presence two days per week.
Responsibilities:

Provide technical leadership
Take ownership of projects from inception to production readiness, including writing acceptance criteria
Follow an MVP approach while adhering to best practices and prioritizing quality considerations
Enhance the observability of client products with a customer-centric focus to improve issue resolution confidence
Collaborate with Product teams as an embedded Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to drive automation and reduce manual work
Coordinate with Incident Management and Product teams to conduct thorough root cause analyses and implement actionable solutions
Contribute to blameless post-mortems after critical incidents and ensure resolutions are implemented
Create detailed technical documentation with the end-user in mind
Willingly take part in an on-call rotation for SRE support during major incidents
Work with Product teams to define and review Service Level Indicators/Objectives (SLIs/SLOs) regularly
Partner with other technology teams in a Dev Ops approach to foster collaboration and bridge the gap with Product teams (e.g., Security, APM, Networks)
Establish and maintain common standards and practices within the organization

Qualifications

A strong technical background
Understanding of SRE principles and a Dev Ops mindset
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
CI/CD Platforms – Git Lab (preferred), Git Hub Actions, Jenkins etc.
Experience with either AWS or GCP
Familiarity with modern tooling – e.g. Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm Chart, Service Mesh, etc.
Scripting Languages – e.g. Java Script, Typescript, Bash, Python, Groovy, etc.
Programming Languages – e.g. Java, Node JS, Go, etc.
Enterprise Observability Tools – e.g. Datadog (preferred), Dynatrace (preferred), Grafana, etc.
Experience with SLOs/SLI setting for services with an understanding of error budgets
Take a test-driven development approach when building capabilities
Understanding of Agile development methodologies and events
Effective communication skills
A willingness to learn and continuously improve by working with new tools and technologies
