The Role
We are looking for a Principal Software Developer for our Aspen Tech Subsurface Science & Engineering business unit, which produces software for the exploration and production of natural resources like oil, gas, mining, geothermal and to solve sustainability problems like CO2 capture.
As a developer, you will support applications that consist of advanced 3D graphics methods for 3D graphical visualization, interactive manipulation of large amount of data, algorithms, and sophisticated UI. Your role will be to focus on the scientific and computations side of the applications.
Your Impact

Perform complex analysis, design, and development tasks, evaluating complex information flow, interfaces, and key data structures to advance integration and implement complex application requirements in a C++ application

Participate in the ceremonies of an agile team, report project progress internally.

Interact with the other development teams of the business unit.

You will follow professional software engineering practices including full software development life cycle, coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, manual and automatic testing, and operations.
What You'll Need

Bs/Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Applied math, Physics, Geophysics, Geology, Reservoir/Petroleum engineering

8+ years of experience in a software development role focusing on C++

Proven practical experience of development in a Linux and Windows environments

Fluent English
