Role Summary:
The Head of Appearance is responsible for managing and leading the Appearance Department, ensuring the efficiency of processes, optimizing costs, and aligning appearance-related activities with upper management objectives. This role will oversee human resource management within the department, stock continuity and management, and the implementation of appearance guidelines across assigned studios. The ideal candidate will have strong project management, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to coach and develop team leaders while maintaining high standards of visual quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Team Management:
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the Appearance Department, ensuring all tasks are performed efficiently and in line with company objectives.
- Analyze team performance and collaborate with Team Leaders to take necessary actions (disciplinary, educational, etc.) to ensure optimal results.
- Coach less experienced managers and Team Leaders, helping them develop a business-oriented approach and improve their overall performance.
- Lead appearance-related projects that align with upper management goals, with an emphasis on cost efficiency and maintaining an aesthetically pleasing product image.
- Process Optimization and Reporting:
- Regularly review and improve processes to enhance workflow efficiency, including the digitalization of stock management.
- Approve new or modified procedures, ensuring they contribute to the overall efficiency of the department.
- Analyze and report weekly stock levels and consumption, escalating or solving potential issues proactively with upper management.
- Utilize data-driven decision-making to present ideas, project results, and reports in a structured, KPI-focused manner.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of appearance operations to senior management, aligning with overall company goals.
- Budget and Procurement Management:
- Oversee the department's budget, ensuring cost-effective procurement and purchasing strategies are implemented.
- Propose and execute cost-saving initiatives without compromising the quality of appearance services.
- Participate in identifying new suppliers and negotiating contracts to ensure cost efficiency and high standards of delivery.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Studio Managers and other departments, to ensure appearance operations do not delay production.
- Provide feedback on designs, procedures, and processes and actively contribute to improving cross-department collaboration.
- Appearance Standards and Consistency:
- Ensure a consistent, high-quality on-camera appearance for employees, in line with company and industry standards.
- Approve the implementation of new appearance requirements and ensure specific image guides are updated and followed.
- Work on improving appearance consistency for products, services, and overall company branding across studios and hubs.
- Studio Development and Scaling:
- Contribute to the development and scaling of new hubs and studios, ensuring the implementation of appearance standards from the outset.
- Participate in strategic planning for expansion efforts, applying knowledge of resource allocation, process efficiency, and team management.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role or senior managerial role.
- Fluency in English is a must.
- Proven experience in managing multiple teams and leading projects across departments.
- Strong project management, communication, and coaching skills.
- Experience in budget oversight, procurement, and implementing cost-saving strategies.
- Proficiency in data analysis, KPI-driven decision-making, and the ability to present data visually using tools like Power Point.
- Solid experience with stock management, including the ability to improve accuracy and streamline processes.
- Knowledge or strong interest in the beauty/fashion domain is desirable.
- Cross-functional communication skills, especially within large and dynamic corporate environments.
