We are seeking a skilled and innovative individual to join our team as a Data Scientist / Data Engineer specializing in E-Commerce Pricing. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining data pipelines, implementing pricing algorithms, and analyzing data to optimize pricing strategies for our e-commerce platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, data analysis or data science, and experience in the e-commerce domain.
Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines for collecting, processing, and storing large volumes of pricing-related data from various sources such as transaction logs, web analytics, and third-party APIs.
Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the pipeline by implementing data validation and monitoring processes.
Collaborate with the pricing team to develop and implement advanced pricing algorithms and models using machine learning and statistical techniques.
Optimize algorithms to dynamically adjust pricing based on factors such as demand, competitor pricing, inventory levels, and customer behavior.
Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in pricing data.
Generate actionable insights and recommendations to improve pricing strategies, revenue optimization, and customer engagement.
Evaluate the performance of pricing models using metrics such as revenue uplift, margin improvement, and customer satisfaction.
Continuously refine and optimize pricing models based on real-world feedback and business objectives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, marketing, and finance to align pricing strategies with overall business goals.
Communicate findings, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner through presentations and reports.
Your profile
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Data Engineer, Data Analyst, Data Scientist, or similar role, with a focus on pricing analytics and optimization in the e-commerce domain.
Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, and experience with data manipulation libraries (e.g., pandas, Num Py).
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Streamlit) for presenting insights and analysis.
Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms and statistical techniques for predictive modeling and optimization.
Experience with a modern data stack (dbt, Snowflake, etc.)
Experience with big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, or similar frameworks is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure.
Knowledge of pricing strategies and methodologies in the e-commerce industry.
Familiarity with A/B testing and experimentation methodologies for evaluating pricing strategies.
