We are seeking an experienced Storekeeper with a background in apparel and clothing to manage our inventory and ensure smooth daily operations.
Job Summary:
The Storekeeper will be responsible for managing the inventory of raw materials, fabrics, accessories, and finished garments. This role requires maintaining accurate inventory records, organizing storage areas, and ensuring that all materials are readily available for the production team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in the garment industry and a strong understanding of textile materials.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive, inspect, and record incoming shipments of fabrics, accessories, and other materials.
Ensure proper storage of materials to prevent damage, deterioration, or loss.
Maintain an accurate inventory management system, including updating stock levels and conducting regular physical stock counts.
Issue materials to the production team based on daily requirements and production schedules.
Organize and label storage areas for easy identification and retrieval of materials.
Monitor stock levels and alert management when materials are running low or when reordering is necessary.
Handle the storage and dispatch of finished garments, ensuring that all items are accurately labeled and documented.
Maintain a clean and organized storage area, adhering to safety and hygiene protocols.
Keep records of all inventory movements, including incoming and outgoing materials and finished products.
Assist with periodic inventory audits and resolve discrepancies as needed.
Work closely with the purchasing department to ensure timely procurement of materials.
Skills & Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Storekeeper in the garment or textile industry is mandatory.
Strong knowledge of garment materials, fabrics, and accessories.
Proficiency in using inventory management software or systems.
Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
Good organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to lift and move heavy items and perform physical tasks.
Basic computer skills for data entry and report generation.
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
Familiarity with safety and storage regulations in the textile industry.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Vocational training or certification in inventory management, textiles, or garment production is an advantage.
