Job Purpose / Basic Function: The main purpose of this position is responsible for ensuring that an organization's operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations of deployed projects and to manage and be responsible to develop, implement and enforce policies that reduce the risk of accidents. Determine what policies are needed and how to enforce them by keeping policies up to date, meeting the latest standards and establishing new ones from time to time as more and newer risks are discovered. Inspecting construction site conditions to determine if hazards are present and to establish procedures and policies to overcome those hazardous situations. Duties and responsibilities: · Establish health, safety, and environmental policies in line with local laws and industry standards. · Ensure the company's safety practices comply with all regulatory requirements. · Conduct regular risk assessments for all operational activities and work environments. · Identify potential hazards, assess risks, and develop control measures to prevent accidents. · Implement hazard control programs and ensure proper safety signage and guidelines are in place. · Perform regular safety audits and site inspections to identify non-compliance with safety regulations. · Record and report any unsafe practices and work with teams to correct them. · Verify that all necessary safety equipment is available and properly maintained. · Investigate all workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine their causes. · Prepare detailed incident reports and suggest measures to prevent recurrence. · Ensure timely reporting of incidents to regulatory authorities as required by law. · Design and deliver health and safety training programs for employees and subcontractors. · Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and refresher courses on relevant topics like emergency procedures, PPE usage, and safe handling of equipment. · Ensure all employees are aware of the company’s safety standards and expectations. · Ensure compliance with local, regional, and national safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001). · Work with government bodies, regulatory authorities, and third-party auditors to ensure adherence to all safety standards. · Maintain records of compliance audits, safety inspections, and legal documentation. · Develop and implement emergency response plans for various scenarios (fire, accidents, chemical spills, etc.). · Conduct emergency evacuation drills to prepare staff for potential incidents. · Ensure that proper first-aid measures and equipment are in place and that employees are trained to respond in emergencies. · Continuously review and update policies to keep up with changes in regulations or operational practices.
