About the role
We are looking for a Digital Connectivity Specialist to join our growing Cargo Customer Experience team.
As a Digital Connectivity Specialist, you will be responsible for leading and delivering digital connectivity solutions in coordination with QR Cargo network to meet business objectives. This role is primarily responsible for the conceptualization, discussion, planning and delivery of digital data sharing projects with focus on multi-party integration, messaging, testing, online product applications testing's, etc.
One of the role’s requirements is robust problem-solving skills and a proactive, precise and data-driven mindset for delivering digital projects for QR Cargo while working alongside network stakeholders (QR offices, GSA, GHA, IATA, industry technical providers, etc.) to promote digital enablement and electronic initiatives in Qatar Airways.
As part of your daily responsibilities, you will also:
- Participate in planning and developing discussions around IATA industry projects e.g., e-Freight, MIP, XML messaging, Modernizing Cargo Distribution, One Record standard implementation within QR Cargo such as integration pilots, solution design and development, data standard development, CROAMIS implementation, testing, etc. to drive efficiencies, mitigate risks and deliver project successfully.
- Manage cargo messaging solutions and process in place by ensuring compliance to industry-standard messaging formats for data exchange such as FWB (freight Waybill), Freight House List (FHL), and FSU (freight Status Updates) by utilizing industry-recognized messaging formats (e.g. CARGO-IMP, XML, JSON), for data exchange.
- Propose, design and implement secure and efficient data exchange protocols along with Information Technology such as but not limited to Host-to-host, Web Service, Messaging Queue (MQ), SFTP, and other connectivity models to ensure there is cost effective and standardized connectivities in place.
- Assist line manager in the tactical delivery of industry data exchange development i.e. One Record within QR Cargo, by participating in integration pilots, solution design and development, data standard development, CROAMIS implementation, testing, and requirement compliance enabling QR to switch to new data exchange standard.
- Ensure all digital platforms comply with industry standards and regulations (e.g. ISO, ANSI, EDIFACT) and organizational policies by helping implement security measures to protect data during transmission process in the digital ecosystem.
- Conduct periodic system process vulnerability checks and assessments within data sharing purview to identify and mitigate risks.
- Monitor and troubleshoot connectivity issues in coordination with IT within digital platforms to ensure smooth flow of transactions between QR and the third-party systems to avoid operational disruption and maintain data integrity.
- Perform other department duties related to his / her position as directed by the Head of the Department

Qualifications
About You
We are looking for a professional who possesses the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 4 years of job-related experience
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent without prior experience for Qatari Nationals
- Experience in Cargo/Logistic Operations Management, Digital Transformation, MIS, e-Commerce and relevant fields
- Experience in agile methodologies, complex digital projects, business process analysis, mapping and documentation, system implementation and development and data analysis
- Experience in digital transformation, e-Initiatives and project management platforms
- Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Visio
- Good understanding of air cargo operational processes and business systems
- Strong written, verbal communication and analytical skills
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with Cargo Business Systems and Continuous Business Improvement
- Experience in managing and implementing digital projects
- Experience or certification in XML messaging interface development
- Completed IATA cargo introductory course
- Fair knowledge of cargo commercial policies, processes, and IATA TACT rules
- Knowledge of industry standard connectivity models
