COST CONTROLLER Location : Doha Working Hours : 9 Hrs / 6 Days Salary : QR 8000- QR11000/- 1. Educational Background:
A degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
2. Relevant Experience:
Proven experience in cost control or financial analysis, preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
Familiarity with food and beverage cost management—this includes understanding portion control, inventory management, and vendor relationships.
Experience working with POS systems and accounting software.
3. Skills in Financial Management:
Budgeting and Forecasting: Ability to create and manage budgets, and forecast future financial performance based on historical data.
Cost Analysis: Expertise in identifying, analyzing, and reducing unnecessary costs. Should be able to track food costs, labor costs, and overhead expenses.
Inventory Management: Knowledge of stock control techniques, minimizing waste, and ensuring that inventory levels align with restaurant demand.
4. Technical Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial software like Quick Books, SAP, or other ERP systems.
Ability to generate cost reports, profit margin analyses, and other key performance indicators (KPIs) regularly.
Experience with recipe costing software to ensure accurate cost of goods sold (COGS) tracking.
5. Knowledge of the Restaurant Industry:
Understanding of restaurant-specific financial challenges, such as seasonal variations, supply chain management, and labor costs.
Familiarity with menu engineering to help assess and optimize profitability of different dishes.
6. Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
Should be able to identify cost drivers, analyze variances, and propose corrective actions.
Ability to recommend pricing strategies or changes to portion sizes to improve margins.
7. Attention to Detail:
Accuracy in handling financial data and preparing reports is essential, as small errors can lead to significant cost inefficiencies.
8. Communication and Team Collaboration:
Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with chefs, suppliers, and restaurant management about costs and necessary adjustments.
Ability to train staff on cost control practices, including minimizing food waste and improving operational efficiency.
