The Design and Development Engineer supports Ten PLUS projects and New Technology Introduction projects (NTI) by the optimization, cost and quality improvement for shock absorber applications.
Travel required by this position is approximately 10%.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Support development and validation of systems, sub-systems and components as and when necessary

Translate customer requirements into exciting new products by supporting new product SOR development and DVP creation including necessary deeper translation to sub-system and component level SORs;

Assure compliance with project timelines using the appropriate tools and report your results to management on a regular basis

Provide technical assistance for all products under your responsibility

Support maintenance of the Engineering database to ensure the latest templates are available;

Grow Product Line Engineering capabilities relative to processes, tools and engineering infrastructure;

Understand key shock absorber attributes and the corresponding Tenneco manufacturing processes that affect them;

Education/Experience

Master/Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Electrical, Electro-mechanical, Hydraulic, Mechatronics Engineering with engineering experience in automotive;

Cross-functional experience in development, manufacturing, program launch team, process engineering or quality is an asset

Green belt certification is an asset
