As a Junior Software Engineer you will join an Agile team. You will be responsible for carrying Wi Fi residential gateways/access points operating in Open WRT or Open Sync environments thru all product life-cycle stages. This includes conception, design, development, debugging, release to manufacturing, and post-release support.
Duties and Responsibilities

Perform research and development tasks for the Wi-Fi residential gateway embedded software throughout all product lifecycle phases, including conceptional, design, development, debugging, release to manufacturing and post-release support

Perform and assist in high-level and low-level software design.

Carry out necessary software engineering tasks to introduce new functionalities and/or enhance existing product features in the Wi Fi products.

Document the design including features definition and provisioning models.

Conduct and participate in design reviews and code reviews.

Plan and perform unit and system-level testing of implemented software modules and enhancements.

Help fix software bugs found during all testing phases.

Work with the team to deploy and test incremental software releases.

Work with Product Management and Customer Support to exchange ideas and information vital for the product’s success.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent education required

1+ years of professional experience is required.

Experience with embedded software design, implementation, and debugging.
-
Familiarity with inter-process communication and multithreading techniques.
-
Experience in Linux-embedded system development and debugging; preferred knowledge of Open WRT.

Experience with Linux networking stack and interfaces.
-
Experience with C/C++.

Familiarity with Linux software development tools such as git, make, gdb. At least B2 English proficiency level.

Knowledge of TCP/IP, IP protocols including DHCP and DNS, Datacom technologies, L2 and L3 protocols, Ethernet switching, IPTV, IGMP, IPV6, SFP modules, networking protocols, Wi Fi technology, Open WRT, Open Sync, Linux embedded system development and debugging, Linux kernel drivers, TR69, CWMP, FTTx, GPON, XGSPON, DOCSIS .

Testing skills.

Experience with bash and shell scripting.

Familiarity with Wi Fi (IEEE 802.11) protocols and standards.

Experience with Python.

Experience with integrating open source software packages.

Experience with embedded Linux containers.

Network and embedded troubleshooting skillset.

Experience working with embedded hardware, schematic and component datasheet consumption and hardware tools such as oscilloscopes.
