Responsibilities:
Position Purpose: In this role, you will take an important part in optimizing, securing, and scaling our Okta platform, ensuring it remains a robust foundation for millions of interactions. We understand the importance of knowledge sharing, so we meticulously document our insights and transfer them to our Identity Operational teams, empowering them to handle the day-to-day operations of our platforms with confidence. When audits arise, we are prepared, armed with comprehensive documentation. This showcases our commitment to security and compliance. A strong desire to learn other Identity platforms under our team's responsibility is essential, as this role offers opportunities to expand your expertise across multiple systems.
Primary duties will include:
- Strive to enhance user experience by developing and implementing strategies that enable a seamless and intuitive identity management process across various platforms and devices.
- Lead the engineering efforts related to the optimization, security, and scaling of our Okta platform.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to engineer new platforms features and new identity platforms.
- Drive automation initiatives to streamline identity-related processes, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to achieve efficiency and accuracy.
- Document and transfer knowledge to Identity Operational teams for day-to-day operations of identity platforms.
- Provide documentation for audits related to various identity platforms.
- Work with Identity Operations team to address any escalated issues or operational risks.
- Contribute to Identity Governance efforts, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
To land this role you will need
- 3+ years of experience engineering and deploying custom app integrations and new functionalities in Okta (SAML/Open ID Connect).
- 5+ years of experience in the identity management space.
- Possess a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with automation and/or scripting using Okta APIs.
- Experience with Okta Workflow Engine.
- Experience with implementing Okta with customer identity (CIAM) use cases.
- Strong experience with OIDC auth flows and custom authorization server configuration.
- Desired experience with object-oriented programming languages with emphasis on C# / .NET.
- Must possess a strong ability to document standards and processes.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and work effectively under the pressure of time constraints in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload with minimal supervision.
- Be available on an on-call basis to respond to support needs or issues arising during non-core hours.
- Ability to quickly learn modern technologies.
Education / Certification Requirements (in at least one of or working towards the following):
- Okta Certified Developer – Workforce Identity Cloud certification (required).
- Okta Certified Administrator (optional, highly desired).
- Okta Certified Professional certification (optional, highly desired).
- Relevant industry certifications such as CIAM, CISA, CAMS.
- Other appropriate field certifications may be considered.
