Job Summary:
The
Pollution Control Officer
is responsible for administering and monitoring a pro-active Environmental Programs at the project site to prevent and correct any kinds of pollution. He assesses all existing chemicals being used by the company for its operations for any unsafe or harmful characteristics and components that will affect human health or environment. He regularly reports to government agencies as required by law.
Detailed Job Description: Strictly implements environmental programs. Facilitates monitoring of air emission tests of all air pollution facilities at stationary sources. Together with the Process Owners, he analyzes and evaluates results of air emission tests and smoke density monitoring and ensures compliance to specific requirements set by government agencies. All non-compliances shall be brought to the attention of the Project Manager. Identifies storage and handling conditions appropriate for the use of chemicals. Determines areas for inspection. Prepares, conduct, and evaluation inspection & its results and recommend actions required. Prepares and submits forms and other documents, when necessary, to applicable government agencies such as PCO Accreditation to DENR/LLDA, application for the ECC of Batching Plant, LLDA Clearance, Hazardous Waste ID, etc. Participates in the conduct of Public Consultation., Drills, Responsible for application and renewal of Discharge Permit from DENR and/or LLDA, and Permit to Operate Air Pollution Source Installations. Monitors generated & identified Hazardous Wastes and checks and ensures proper storage and disposal to have a Certificate of Treatment (COT). Monitors and ensures environmental quality on Noise, Potable Water, Air, and Work Area (WEM). Conducts Environmental Orientation to newly hired employees, visitors, clients, and/or stakeholders. Conducts internal Environmental Training. Prepares and submits SMR and CMR, Environmental Aspect Register, Environmental Incident Reports, and other related reports as may be required. Establishes and updates HIRAC/AIIAC of PCO Create and issue Notice of Violation to anyone who violates Environmental Programs Other related tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
