Job Summary:The Configuration Management Specialist role is to establish and develop new and existing procedures for organized releases originating from the information technology department within the organization. This will include release planning and coordination of developed software products. The Configuration Management Specialist will apply proven analytical and problem-solving skills to assist in deploying software of the highest quality to be used by both internal and external organizational clients. We would like a problem-solver willing to learn new technologies and deliver high quality software without compromise. Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Apply technical and process expertise in the planning and management of system/software release, migration, and deployment activities. Help define program level automation and ongoing operations for functions including system/software version control, build, migration, packaging, distribution, installation, and verification.
Apply experience within the configuration management (CM) discipline and large scale systems/software development life cycle in providing systems and application software CM (SCM) services covering configuration identification, control, status accounting, verification, and audit to program sub projects pertaining to software development.
Strong knowledge and experience with Configuration Management discipline within the software engineering lifecycle. An understanding of web architecture and document delivery systems within the web architecture is desired. Ability to work as part of cross-functional and cross-company teams is a must.
Excellent organization, documentation, written and oral communications skills are required
.Knowledge of multiple computing platforms is preferred.
Strong experience with SQL, ASP.NET, Classic ASP, and MS Access desired.
Reviews and analyzes software changes and coordinates changes with business analysts and quality assurance teams to ensure compliance with internal and customer requirements, as well as company policy.
Experience with source code repository software
Reviews, generates, and updates internal procedures to reflect current working guidelines.
Conduct internal audits to measure and assure adherence to established standards for software development, application integration, and information system performance, and corresponding documentation.
Assist in the development of change control processes, practices, and guidelines for new and existing technologies.
Build, compile, and deploy applications from a source code repository and deploy the built applications to the appropriate servers in the appropriate environment.
Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in IT systems and projects across the organization.
Assist in procuring documentation as needed for external audits.
Must have the ability to occasionally work outside standard working hours to support production deployments during evenings and weekends.
Qualifications:
3 years direct experience as a configuration controller for major application integration and/or major application product release or equivalent
Direct hands-on experience with ad hoc query programs,
Proven data analysis, data verification, and problem-solving abilities.
Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures.
Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Keen attention to detail.
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
