JOB SUMMARY
The Agricultural technician is to help farmers and agricultural researchers to increase the efficiency and sustainability of agricultural practices. Their job involves conducting experiments, collecting data, and analyzing results to improve crop yields, enhance soil quality, and increase overall farm productivity.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducting soil analysis: Collecting soil samples and testing them to determine nutrient levels, p H levels, and other important characteristics.
Monitoring crop growth: Observing crop growth and identifying signs of disease, pest infestations, or other issues that may impact crop yield.
Applying fertilizers and pesticides: Determining the appropriate types and amounts of fertilizers and pesticides needed for specific crops and applying them accordingly.
Developing and implementing pest management plans: Developing and implementing plans to control pests and reduce crop damage.
Providing technical support to farmers: Providing technical support to farmers and other agricultural professionals to help them make informed decisions about crop management and production.
Conducting research: Conducting research on new technologies, practices, and products related to agriculture, and sharing findings with farmers and other professionals.
Analyzing data: Collecting and analyzing data related to crop yields, soil health, and other key metrics to inform decision-making.
Collaborating with other professionals: Collaborating with other agricultural professionals, such as agronomists, plant scientists, and extension agents, to share knowledge and improve practices.
Maintaining records: Keeping detailed records of crop yields, soil tests, pest control measures, and other important information to inform future decision-making.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: A degree or diploma in agriculture, agronomy, soil science, or a related field is usually required. Relevant coursework may include plant science, soil science, pest management, and agricultural economics.
Technical Skills: Agricultural Technicians should have a solid understanding of scientific principles and research methods.
Know how to drive motorcycle. and with valid driver's license -RC 1,2,3
