Duties and responsibilities
Vice President Topside Manager is a operational management position that will obtain responsibility for evaluation of suppliers and scope of work throughout the project, as well as instruction and support to the project teams on complete project delivery follow up. The role may also include topside packages related to gangway towers, ROV/LARS systems, A-Frames and similar systems for other offshore / subsea vessels. Some of the most important tasks and responsibilities for the position:
Actively participating in the pre-contractual work related to development of technical specification, building specification and demarcation discussions concerning topside content and obligations
Close collaboration with- and support to- Project Manager and his/her team in issues related to the topside delivery in the projects
Oversee that procurement and evaluation process of topside equipment and scope fulfils the required quality and is complete and correct and in line with contractual obligations
Identify critical line and risks related to the topside equipment deliveries and promote follow-up of scope and delivery time in the projects
Improve the process to ensure that integration is obtained between topside equipment supplier and VARD, including all disciplines
Ensure reporting with good quality on engineering, production, testing and verification of topside deliveries from suppliers across the VARD projects
Collaborating with and provide support to the VARD shipyards during installation, testing and verification
Report progress and deviations to operational management
Qualifications
Relevant higher education, or other relevant experience
Proven production experience during execution and commissioning of top side deliveries
Experience from either the ship owner or the mission equipment supplier related to planning
engineering and execution of complex cable laying projects
Operational experience on Cable Laying Vessels is an advantage but not a requirement
Ability to take efficient decisions by involvement of relevant key personnel
Be proactive and systematic in identifying and resolving challenges
Knowledge to relevant laws, regulations and experience related to topside equipment
Good knowledge of English, oral and written
