Job Summary: As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating a wide array of pastries and desserts that align with our bakery’s vision and standards. Your role will include overseeing the production of high-quality baked goods, managing inventory, and ensuring that all products meet our quality standards. You will work closely with the kitchen team to innovate and refine our offerings, while also maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Key Responsibilities:
Menu Development: Design and develop new pastry recipes and seasonal offerings. Experiment with flavors, textures, and presentation to keep our menu fresh and appealing.
Production: Oversee the preparation, baking, and decorating of pastries, cakes, cookies, and other baked goods. Ensure consistency in product quality and presentation.
Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of ingredients and supplies. Order and maintain stock as needed while minimizing waste.
Quality Control: Conduct regular checks to ensure all products meet our quality standards. Implement and maintain hygiene and safety practices in the kitchen.
Team Leadership: Supervise and train pastry assistants and junior staff. Provide guidance and support to ensure efficient and effective operation.
Customer Interaction: Occasionally interact with customers to receive feedback and provide information about our pastries and desserts.
Maintenance: Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned. Report any maintenance issues to management promptly.
Compliance: Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation regulations and standards. Ensure compliance with all food safety laws and bakery policies.
Qualifications:
Education: BSC/HND/OND/NCE, Culinary degree or equivalent experience in pastry arts.
Experience: Proven experience as a pastry chef or in a similar role within a bakery or restaurant setting.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of pastry techniques and baking methods.
Creative flair for designing and decorating pastries.
