About the role
As a Work Broker, you'll engage with employers and clients within your community to provide a professional service to link Work and Income job seekers with suitable job opportunities.
You will use influence and networks to seek out current and future employment opportunities from employers across a range of industry sectors. This will involve cold calling, maintaining existing employer relationships, the use of technology and networking to bring in great opportunities for our job seekers.
You will also be able to support job seekers to employers and build long term professional relationships that go from strength to strength. You'll work alongside Case Managers and other Service Centre colleagues to ensure sustainable employment outcomes are achieved.
You will have a passion to help people from a diverse background, and your main drive is sales and hunting down opportunities. Results-driven, you readily build strong relationships with all stakeholders in the employment pipeline.
A fast-paced, pressured environment is where you thrive, and you enjoy using your tenacity and initiative to find solutions and achieve goals.
A full clean driver's licence and the ability to travel around Whanganui region as required are essential for this role.
About you
Sales-driven you will champion the voice of our clients by recognising and promoting their skills to employers. You enjoy hunting down new opportunities and growing existing relationships. Your natural flair for seeking out labour market trends and insights ensures you proactively anticipate impacts and opportunities. You thrive under pressure and enjoy using your tenacity and initiative to find solutions and achieve goals.
To succeed in this role, you will need to:
Be a highly motivated self-starter who is target and goal driven
Understand what makes a great job match for both employers and employees
Utilities sales and marketing practices to maximise outcomes effectively
Have excellent facilitation skills with the ability to engage an audience to influence positive change
Able to work effectively as part of a wider team
Strong administration and organisational skills
Work alongside clients and employers from diverse backgrounds
Be flexible, solutions focused and customer-centric
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Be tenacious, professional and driven to overcome roadblocks
Enjoy building relationships and making new connections
Be able to travel around the region to meet employers as required
