Successful applicant will have to work at multiple regions: Manawatu-Whanganui, Hawke's Bay and Wellington
Successful applicant may be required to travel and stay away from home for any business requirements.
Travel allowance is available for overnight stay and will be based on the type of job required to be done as part of the role.

As a Truck Operator, you are responsible for pick-up and delivery of customers loads as per instructions received from the dispatcher. Key Performance Indicators Daily Operations
Undertake pre-start checks at the beginning of each shift
Notify Hub Manager immediately of any work-prohibiting faults
Notify Hub Manager of all other faults within 24 hours
Maintain logbook in compliance with work-time and logbook requirements
Complete day sheet, load delivery dockets and weighbridge dockets and assemble and distribute documentation as required at the end of each shift
Check work schedule and pick up/deliver loads as per instructions received from dispatcher
Truck Operations
Operate and maintain vehicles responsibly by complying with all road rules, ensuring licences are up to date and displayed correctly
Use weighbridge to get gross, tare and net weight of load and grades within load if split load
Truck is kept clean and is refuelled at the end of each shift
Drive to optimise truck efficiency (e.g. tyres and fuel)
Diagnose and report all major vehicle faults to dispatcher immediately
Record any other vehicle faults on Day Sheet each Friday
Customer Interaction
Prepare and oversee loading and unloading of truck and trailer (from safe zone), position truck and trailer as instructed by loader operator
During loading, ensure correct grade of logs are received and they are stacked safely
Display courteous and effective communication with crews to ensure jobs are completed as instructed and efficiently
Health, Safety and Environment
Operate vehicle in a safe and efficient manner by adhering to all speed limits and road safety requirements, including driving to the conditions and driving defensively
Always wear PPE at all times when outside cab at skid sites and customer delivery points
Stand in the safe zone or sit in the cab during loading and unloading vehicle
Not be under the influence of non-prescription drugs or alcohol during work time
Always be aware of hazards and do nothing that will cause harm to yourself or anyone else
Ensure safety gear if maintained and carried on truck at all times
Report and record all hazards and incidents
Notify the dispatcher or Hub Manager immediately of any serious incidents/accidents, and complete any necessary forms or participate in an investigation
Qualifications and Other Requirements:
Applicants must hold a Class 5 HT licence or an overseas equivalent.
Applicants must sit and pass driving tests required to convert to a New Zealand Class 5 driver’s licence where applicable.
Good communication skills and organization skills
Committed to maintaining a high level of health and safety
DESIRED:
Prior experience in the logging industry, driving logging trucks
WTR endorsement
