The role monitors and responds to planned and unplanned events on and around the transport network, as well as providing accurate, relevant and timely traveller information to road users.
Real-time monitoring of the transport network, using CCTV cameras and other sources
Incident management, such as coordinating the response to crashes, breakdowns, storms and other unplanned events.
Optimising traffic signals in real-time to help improve safety and efficiency.
Providing travel information to help ensure customers are informed before and during their journeys.
Helping manage the impact of planned activity such as roadworks and public events, by working with relevant parties.
Responding to planned and unplanned events and optimising customer journeys
Please note this role works on a 24 hour shift rotation including weekends, you will work two 12 hour days, followed by two 12 hour nights, then 4 days off. Experience using multiple systems
Ability to multi- task and be highly organised
Personal resilience. Able to sustain a high level of energy and positivity
Problem-solving skills and the ability to apply an analytical approach
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A good command of spoken English for radio transmission
Displays a strong customer service ethos
High attention to detail, accuracy, and meeting deadlines.
Personal resilience to react well to traumatic events and gain support.
Displays strong team skills, contributing to team success.
Transport management or emergency services background desirable but not essential
The Ability to work 12 hours shifts including overnight shifts.
