Te Papa Crew Casual - Evening shifts

Job Description
Te Papa stands proud as an iconic national building housing the treasures of the nation and is a vibrant destination for both national and international visitors. We've now also partnered with Wellington City Council to operate Tākina, Wellington's newest Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Our Venues Team is world-class, delivering event operations and hospitality across both Te Papa and Tākina.
We are seeking hospitality and events workers to join our dynamic Venues Team on a casual ‘as and when required' basis for evening events (typically between 5pm and midnight).
What's in it for you?
Joining our busy, supportive team you will:
  • Select the night shifts you'd like to work from week to week to suit your schedule
  • Enjoy a variety of work from wedding and conference dinners to awards events
  • Receive a competitive hourly rate
  • Have a laundered uniform provided
  • Gain access to excellent staff benefits across the museum
Successful candidates will have:
  • Availability to work evenings, including public holidays and weekends
  • The right to work in New Zealand
  • At least one year's hospitality experience (ideally in events)
  • A positive attitude and be a team player
  • Excellent customer service & communication skills
  • A strong knowledge of food & beverage hygiene standards
Te Papa's three values Whanaungatanga (Teamwork), Manaakitanga (Respect) and Auahatanga (Creativity) are at the centre of how Te Papa works. Te Papa is an amazing organisation to work for with bold aspirations for the future.
The work across our operation is busy, fast paced and in a fantastic, friendly team environment, so come join us!
This is an open call for applications. Our Venues Team reviews applications on a regular basis and will advise on the status of your application.
The hourly rate for this position will be a minimum of $26.00.
Applicants must have the ability to obtain and maintain the legal right to work in New Zealand.
Prior to Te Papa confirming any offer of employment, pre-employment checks will be undertaken including criminal conviction history and reference checking with your current employer as a minimum.
