The role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi:
As a Community Support Worker (CSW), you'll be working autonomously with our Tangata whai ora, supporting them to engage and remain in their chosen community and helping them to work on self-directed goals to regain independence, maintain wellbeing and achieve their fullest potential and quality of life. The CSW is required to participate in support and needs assessment, goal setting, and risk management.
The role also involves collaboratively working with the whānau/family as well as working under the multi-disciplinary framework with the Community Mental Health Centres. You will attend regular clinical review meetings with mental health clinicians and other professionals.
You will:
  • Support our tangata whai ora (service users) autonomously
  • Help our tangata whai ora to work on self-directed goals to regain independence, maintain wellbeing and achieve their fullest potential and quality of life.
  • Work collaboratively with whānau/family and clinicians.
You | Mōu:

We are looking for individuals who share our values and has commitment and passion for supporting people in their communities. You will also:

  • Hold a clean full NZ driver’s license.
  • Hold the New Zealand Level 4 Certificate in Health and Well-being (or recognised equivalent) or be willing to commence study towards this qualification within 6 months of employment.
  • Have excellent communication, interpersonal and advocacy skills.
  • Strong technology skills; must be experienced in using Microsoft Office products and familiar with databases
  • Have the ability to work individually and collaboratively under a multi-disciplinary setting
  • Have a sound knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and be able to demonstrate bicultural concepts in practice, or willingness to learn
  • If you speak Te Reo Maori it is bonus!
  • An interest in Māori and Pasifika people’s customs and cultural norms
