Batchelor’s Degree – Civil Engineering

As part of our Structural Design Team, you will be working alongside our engineers of all levels of experience to deliver projects in many market areas of civil engineering. At BSK we are driven by the quality of our work and to meet or surpass our clients’ needs through design excellence.

The candidate will have the option of being based out of the BSK Rotorua or Tauranga office.
Duties and Responsibilities
This role has a broad range of tasks for the following:

Carrying out structural design on a range of commercial, industrial and residential structures
Structural assessment and retrofit design for existing structures,
Preparation of technical calculations,
Working with the drafting team to prepare detailed structural drawings,
Preparation of technical assessment and design reports,
Construction monitoring and site inspections.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills

BE in Civil Engineering from an accredited University,
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in structural engineering
Knowledge and experience of New Zealand structural design standards, practices and guides
Ability and willingness to travel for supervision tasks,
Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
Demonstrates responsible and ethical decision-making,
Knowledge and use of structural analysis software such as Microstran, SAP2000,
Experience with other software such as Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft office suite (particularly excel).
