On a daily basis, the successful applicant will be working alongside our stonemasons team on various construction sites. This includes, but is not limited to:
Read and interpret blueprints to decide on dimensions and installation process
Determine the materials and equipment needed for the project
Cut, shape, and smoothen rock/stone materials using abrasive saw and power grinders
Construct and install prefabricated stone carvings/masonry units for buildings and interior fittings
Set and verify the vertical and horizontal alignment of structures with the aid of levels and plumb bob
Lay and align stones according to set construction plans and specifications
Position construction forms or mould along the guidelines of walls
Apply and spread mortar on slabs/surfaces using a trowel
Clean the surface of marble/stone structures using sponge, brush, water or chemical solution
Smooth and polish stones and concrete
Replace defective or missing stones on walls and structures
Participate with keeping all work environments clean, orderly, and safe
Must comply with company quality requirements
Although onsite training will be provided, the successful applicant must have one of the following:
A New Zealand Certificate in Stonemasonry (Level 4 and above) or equivalent; or
3 years relevant work experience in this sector

Our company provides an attractive and competitive income of $29,66 per hour, with the possibility of further negotiation to $32 per hour depending on your skills.
