Sports and Physical Activity Coordinator (Part time)
Wakatipu High School is a well resourced, co-educational school with a growing roll of more than 1,450 students and 140 staff, situated in Queenstown in the stunning Wakatipu Basin. Our school’s vision is to deliver Aotearoa New Zealand’s best all-round education. We looking for an excellent facilitator to coordinate the delivery of sport and physical activity to students. This is a fixed term, part time term-time-only job (20 hours per week 40 weeks per annum). The Sports and Physical Activity Coordinator will support the Director of Sport and one other Sports and Physical Activity Coordinator with implementing action plans to achieve the goals and targets set out to:
increase participation in sport and physical activity
enhance the profile of sport and physical activity within the school and the greater community
enhance student enjoyment and development from sport and physical activity
support and promote the safe delivery of sport and physical activity to students
encourage and enable students to participate at their desired level of sport
The successful applicant will demonstrate leadership, a passion for youth education through sport and physical activity, excellent organisation and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people. Key Tasks will include:
Communication and administration
Organisation of sports events, competitions, trips and tournaments
Develop and maintain pathways for sporting excellence and high performance
Community Involvement
Professional Support and Training
Resource Management
Other tasks as may be reasonably requested from time to time
The ideal candidate will have experience working within a school environment and coaching and/or sports management qualifications. This role sits at Grade 3, Step 5 ($29.52 per hour) on the Support Staff Collective Agreement. Applications will be assessed as they are received.
