Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week)

Job specific information

We are seeking a person who is committed to making a difference in the lives of disabled children and adults, and their families/whānau in Tauranga.
Key functions of this role include:

• Coordinating high quality services that are creative, flexible, and responsive to the needs of disabled children, adults and their families / whānau.
  
• Provision of services, advocacy and information sharing.
  
• Developing and maintaining positive working relationships and community connections and networks.
  
• Partnering with disabled people, their families and whānau to support them to have choice and control in their lives.
  
• Coordinating and managing Support Workers and carers to provide quality support and services in the community and in people’s homes.
  
• Coordinate delivery of contracted services which meet the funders’ specifications.
  
• Ensure that our work undertaken with disabled people, their family/whānau, and our related community partners, is of high quality and is rights based.

• Have experience working with individuals, families / whānau to access supports and services.
  
• Have an ability to form positive relationships and networks.
  
• Have great oral and written communication skills.
  
• Have an understanding and knowledge of the disability sector and can relate to disabled people in a positive affirming manner.
  
• Have strong time management and organisational skills.
  
• Have excellent skills in developing and maintaining trusting and accountable relationships with staff.
  
• Have previous experience and/or tertiary training.
  
• Demonstrate a willingness to be creative and innovative in delivering services.
