Practice Manager - People Administration
The Improvement, Systems and Technology group are all about enabling people and partners with improved services and effective technologies so New Zealanders can easily access the support they need. The Improvement, Systems and Technology group is organising into practices to foster continuous learning, collaboration, and expertise. Our newly established practices need passionate, driven and experienced leaders to pave the way for IST to be at the leading edge of MSD's transformation.

As a Practice Manager, your role is pivotal in leading the overarching strategy of our People Administration Practice within the Improvement Systems and Technology (IST) Group. Your contribution is at the core of our mahi, deeply intertwined with our delivery commitments. Working in close collaboration with Practice Leaders, you'll play a key role in steering the future vision and strategy and aligning with the practice strategy to support transformation.

Takohanga tuhinga o mua | Key accountabilities and deliverables
Translate the practice strategy for People Operations into practical strategic objectives and pathways for the practice.
Build a practice roadmap that integrate people policies and systems to deliver quality consistent experiences for our people throughout the employee lifecycle
Lead, provide and implement people frameworks and standards for the practice that delivers on consistency of understanding and leadership on employee relations and human resource experiences for IST.
Bring together a range of strategies into tactical responses that can be operationalised across the group, that support a step change in leadership capability.
Lead people resourcing approaches to ensure the right capabilities are available at the appropriate times to continuously deliver value across the group. Working with Practice Leads to manage talent sourcing, recruitment and growing practice capability and development.
Responsible for leading the IST graduate programme as part of the wider MSD graduate strategy, create a people centric experience that will engage and retain top graduate talent for the group and MSD.

You will bring:
Extensive professional and technical experience in people, leadership or a human resources specialism
Experience working in a people leadership capacity with a strong understand of people management processes in a government organisation
Strong experience in the development and implementation of people capability and graduate programme strategies
Strong knowledge, experience and understanding of recruitment and people processes, preferably in the public sector
Proven track record leading and influencing others, improving workforce culture, engagement and ways of working
Experience in strategy development and planning
Exceptional stakeholder engagement and management skills
High levels of resilience and experience leading through change and leadership ability to face into serious headwinds and still make progress
A strong understanding of agile ways of working and how roles collaborate and work together to create high performing teams
12-month Fixed Term full-time role based at our National Office in Wellington's CBD.
NB: We can also offer the location of Ellerslie, Auckland should the successful applicant be based in the Auckland region.
Salary range: $141,109.00 - $175,603.00
