Pipefitter - Temporarily Relocate to Canada

Our client is a multi-disciplined Global construction company offering superior civil, electrical, and mechanical services, including piping, insulation, scaffolding, and module fabrication. We are looking for 20 experienced Ironworks to work on a variety of projects in Alberta and potentially across Canada.
Sherwood Park and Fort Saskatchewan are located just outside the Edmonton, Alberta Cabada area. Living in Edmonton, Alberta, offers a unique blend of urban sophistication and natural beauty. Job Responsibilities:
Reporting to the appropriate site supervisor, the Pipefitter / Steamfitter Apprentice & Journeyperson will be responsible for providing full cycle, in depth knowledge and support for the profession of Pipefitter / Steamfitter to ensure Aecon Construction Solutions Inc. achieves their general and specific project requirements.
  • Study blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine the type of pipe and tools to use and lay out the sequence of tasks
  • Make detailed sketches for pipe and equipment fabrication and installation
  • Measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, solder, assemble and install metal, plastic and fibreglass pipes, valves and fittings
  • Join pipe sections and related equipment and secure in position
  • Use testing equipment to check systems for leaks
  • Remove and replace worn components and do general maintenance work
Skills and Experience:
  • Certified Journeyperson Trade Ticket or (ability to obtain equivalency once in Canada)
  • 2-3 years’ experience reading piping and instrumentation design diagrams
  • 2-3 years’ experience laying out and installing piping, tubing, fittings, and all related components.
  • 2-3 years’ experience installing, testing, and maintaining low- and high-pressure steam and condensate systems
  • 2-3 years’ experience rigging, hoisting, lifting, and positioning equipment.
  • 2-3 Years’ Oil/Gas Industry experience
  • Physical strength and stamina
  • Manual dexterity
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • The ability to read and understand complex instructions and drawings
  • The ability to do careful and precise work
  • May be required to lift items weighing over 25 kilograms
  • Must be willing to work in remote job locations
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must have a strong understanding of safety procedures and policies on an industrial job site
  • Willing to work in remote locations.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Hourly Rate: $45.33 - $50.00 (Canadian – CAD)
  • Shift Rotations: Varies per project (5/2, 10/4, 14/7, 21/7, 6/1)
  • 10-hour shifts, flexible hours
  • Overtime: 1.5 times after 8 hours/day or 40 hours/week
  • Paid overtime on scheduled days off
  • Benefits and compensation per Collective Agreement
  • 6% vacation pay and 4% statutory holiday pay as per Collective Agreement
Working Conditions:
  • Primary locations: Edmonton, Sherwood Park, Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta
  • Repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Significant daily working hours
  • Ability to lift up to 25kg
  • Work in varying weather conditions and environments
