- A minimum of 5 years' experience as a primary care Nurse Practitioner
- A New Zealand Nursing Registration and Nurse Practitioner scope issued by New Zealand Nursing Council
- A master's degree (with a prescribing component)
- Specialty knowledge and practice expertise in both an autonomous and collaborative setting
- Experience working with patients from diverse cultural backgrounds
- Cultural competency and cultural safety
