The Steam and Recovery Business Unit is looking for a motivated and versatile person to fill the position of No.2 Power Group Assistant, the entry level position in the Steam and Recovery promotion line.
In this role you will support and assist the Recovery Boiler Operator to run the Boiler safely, effectively and efficiently on a 24/7 shift basis. Full training will be provided. The person selected will, with the support of that training, be able to:
Safely and diligently carry out the Boiler Operators instructions
Do the regular routine process tests per the 2-hour schedule, sometimes more frequently, and understand, communicate and record the results
Meet the Health, Safety and Environmental standards and goals that are in place
Carry out Hazard Identification walkdowns and other safety checks as directed
Meet current and future production targets
Support plant shutdowns. This includes placing and checking plant isolations in compliance with the Kinleith Isolation System
Maintain high housekeeping standards
Carry out Essential Care & Condition Monitoring checks
Carry out exception reporting, troubleshooting and documentation
Progressive train up to Level 4 Enchem and also assist with training as may be requested
Assist other area Operators
Support continuous improvement mainly through the development and review of existing operating procedures and training materials
The skills, qualifications and experience for which evidence will be required are:
Ability to follow verbal instructions and written procedures
Must be physically able to do the job
Good clear communication skills, both oral and written
Sound computer literacy
Ability, desire and motivation to study towards Enchem Level 4 qualification for Boiler Operations
Willingness and ability to work shift work (12 hr 4 on 4 off shift in our case)
Strong team player
