Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is looking for Network Engineer to join the Network team in Te Tai Matihiko - Digital Solutions on a permanent, full-time basis. The role of the Network Engineer is to maintain and support the University’s wireless and data network infrastructure and to pro-actively monitor on-line network management and monitoring tools and applications. This includes planning, building, testing, and installing any required network upgrades, reconfigurations or new builds. Ō pūmanawa - About you We are looking for a Network Engineer with extensive experience in the support of a medium to large scale service provider environment supporting 20,000+ network attached devices and 24/7 service availability. The candidate should have experience across a wide range of technologies with in-depth technical knowledge while at the same time understand the bigger picture with a strong customer focussed work ethic. Key requirements:
Strong background in the support and troubleshooting medium to large scale Cisco routed and switched networks including wireless technologies.
Even though you are technical well versed in multiple fields, you like to keep on learning and expanding your technical knowledge.
You are a team player and like to share knowledge.
Experience with Agile Methodology.
