Mobile Gardens Team Member
Napier City Council has an opportunity for a highly motivated multi-skilled gardener to join our Mobile Garden Team, responsible for installing and maintaining garden areas around Napier, including median strip and roundabout plantings.
As a Mobile Garden Team Member, you will be an integral part of our Garden Maintenance team, responsible for the care, maintenance, and enhancement of our green spaces and streetscapes. You will have the unique opportunity to work in different locations, contributing to the aesthetics and functionality of our urban environment, all while mixing and mingling with our community.

Job Description - Mobile Garden Team Member
As a Mobile Garden Team Member, you will be an integral part of our Garden Maintenance team, responsible for the care, maintenance, and enhancement of our green spaces and streetscapes. You will have the unique opportunity to work in different locations, contributing to the aesthetics and functionality of our urban environment, all while mixing and mingling with our community.
Requirements:
- Good knowledge and experience of horticulture;
- Horticultural qualification would be ideal but is not essential;
- TTM qualification an advantage but full training will be given;
- Able to prepare and maintain annual, shrub, and perennial beds to a high standard;
- Competent in the use of mowers, weed eaters, small tractors and using sprays;
- A current Drivers Licence (essential) and an HT Licence (desirable)
- You must be multi-skilled and prepared to work in a variety of areas when required;
- A very good level of fitness and accustomed to manual work;
- A positive, flexible approach to teamwork and able to work unsupervised and efficiently for significant periods of time.
