About the Role We are seeking a skilled Leading Hand to join our Wānaka & Central team based in Wānaka. If you take pride in consistently delivering high-quality carpentry and excel in team collaboration, this role is for you. Key Responsibilities:
Support and contribute to a positive, inclusive Build Team environment
Serve as a liaison between the carpentry team and Site Manager (BTM)
Manage and coordinate the team and trade partners as needed
Lead toolbox talks, complete timesheets, and mentor team members
Perform carpentry tasks to the highest standards
Ensure consistent quality control
Maintain a tidy and efficient work environment
Commit to fostering a strong health and safety culture
Your tasks may include:
Concrete work, framing, and siteworks
Installing hardware, insulation, joinery, windows, and doors
Erecting walls, building stairs, and roof framing
Trims, finishing, and installing cabinets, trim, and molding
Precision tasks: repairing furniture
Excavations, demolition, precast erection, and reinforcing steel
Experience and Skills required:
Post qualification experience in New Zealand or Australia preferred
NZ Trade qualification in Carpentry
Commercial build experience preferred
Experience working in a Leading Hand position on site
Proven ability to deliver on quality and high-level customer satisfaction
Ability to work well in team
