Te tūnga | The role
Stats NZ produces significant statistics that directly impact key decision making and New Zealand's economy. You will be responsible for continuing the work to build out a modern data platform providing Stats NZ staff the technology and processes that produce these statistics.
You will understand data management concepts, tools, and technologies and will be charged with managing our enterprise data platform through working with technology, business and project teams to maintain the platform and ensure successful deliver this priority projects and data products onto the platform.

You possess a unique blend of analytical thinking and creative problem-solving skills that enable you to tackle complex data challenges head-on.
You're skilled at developing roadmaps that support business objectives while anticipating future needs. You thrive in fast-paced environments and can pivot quickly in response to changing priorities. Your ability to foster collaboration between technical and non-technical teams is a key strength.
The Senior Data Platform Owner requires SFIA Competency Level 6 (initiate) indicating a high level of organisational impact and influence, and the critical nature of this role within the wider business.
You will:
have significant experience (7+ years) as a Platform Owner and/or Product Management of a complex technology platform.
be a trusted advisor to diverse stakeholder base.
have systems delivery lifecycle (SLDC) and Agile SCRUM experience.
have relevant professional qualifications e.g. TOGAF, ITIL, Scrum Product owner, PRINCE2, PMI, ILX Business analysis, etc).
have managed multiple suppliers simultaneously from engagement and day to day management to completion of the contract.
understand the public sector governance lifecycle and have the ability to produce high quality governance documents.
