Health & Safety Business Partner- Fixed Term

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety professional to join our team at LPC on a 6-month, fixed term contract.

About the role
As a Health and Safety Professional, it is crucial that you can influence outcomes that are aligned with the Health and Safety strategy.
The Health and Safety team support the operational leaders in the reduction of operation risk and promotion of Safe Production. A strong focus on a positive safety culture and health and safety execution. The role will foster the development of an engaged and high performing workforce leading by example to influence, challenge and act as a trusted leader and adviser to the respective business unit.
About you
You will be a health and safety professional with experience working within a heavily unionised environment. You will be strong at maintaining key stakeholder relationships and will act as a trusted advisor to the Container Operations business unit. You will enjoy working in a collaborative team and have a strong focus on continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will also possess the following skills:
  • Holds a tertiary qualification in a relevant field
  • Proven experience and success in leading change and driving a continuous improvement culture
  • The ability to collaborate and influence leaders at all levels, employees, unions and other key stakeholders to ensure the continued improvement in health, safety and learning performance
  • The ability to use sound health and safety expertise to generate, evaluate and act on strategic options and opportunities
  • Integrates qualitative and quantitative information to draw accurate conclusions
  • Knowledge of the New Zealand Health and Safety legislation and regulations
  • Solid understanding and experience leading risk management processes
  • Experience in business improvement frameworks and techniques for developing ongoing productivity and efficiency gains
