About the role
Nothing is more important than the health and safety of our people at Port Nelson. We have an enviable track record and have an amazing opportunity for a safety leader to join our team. As the Health & Safety Manager, reporting to the General Manager People & Safety, you will be acting in both a strategic and hands-on operational capacity so we can continue to protect the whole Port Nelson team. You will play a leading role in driving the company-wide safety culture forward through continuous improvement, and through leading the design and implementation of forward-thinking safety initiatives and embedding robust but pragmatic systems.
About you
You will have a background where you have previously created a cultural shift and want to do more of this. You enjoy working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders and using your very real ability to influence and engage people at all levels. While you will already have significant hands-on experience in workplace health & safety in safety-sensitive environments, you are looking for the opportunity to build on this, especially in a complex business such as Port Nelson.
You will also need:
- The ability to take a lead role within the H&S team;
- Expertise in implementing H&S management plans and systems;
- In-depth knowledge of current health and safety legislation;
- A proven record of delivering best practice outcomes across the business;
- A desire to drive forward positive changes to build and enhance safety culture;
- Hold a recognised H&S qualification
