Forklift Operator Port Otago Group’s business comprises a regional container terminal, bulk port activities, cruise and property investment and development. We service South Canterbury, Otago, and Southland, working with customers to streamline their supply chains. Our culture is hands-on, safety focused and encourages continuous improvement. About the Role We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Forklift Operator to join our Supply Chain division on a permanent full-time basis within our Port Otago Warehouses, predominately based at our D Shed Warehouse in Port Chalmers. The annualised hours seasonal role means you will work no less than 1900 hours per annum during the peak of our season.
Once you have worked your hours for the season, you have the opportunity to have a few months off work, all while still being paid.
You may be rostered to work either first shift (0700 – 1500 hours) or second shift (1500 – 2300 hours). Hours include weekend work.
You may work at any of our four warehouses based in Port Chalmers, Sawyers Bay, Mosgiel or Dunedin (Cold Stores), while handling various products such as Fish, Dairy and Timber.
About You
Our ideal candidate will be an experienced forklift operator who has a positive, can-do attitude.
They will also demonstrate the following:
A high standard of health and safety.
Current full driver’s license with F (Forklift) endorsement or OSH Forklift Certificate.
Great communication skills with the confidence to speak up.
Fantastic attention to detail and a drive to do well.
Team player who thrives in a busy environment.

You must be able to pass Ministry of Justice, ACC checks and a medical which includes a drug and alcohol test as part of our recruitment process.
Random drug and alcohol testing is conducted on a weekly basis at Port Otago.
