THE OPPORTUNITY
The Yardie/Despatch Coordinator ensures efficient customer service by assisting with order pickups, loading vehicles, and supporting delivery drivers. It also involves maintaining a well-organized yard, collaborating closely with procurement, production, and sales teams to meet dispatch deadlines and ensuring that all products meet quality standards before leaving the yard.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Service:
Greet and serve customers in person, assisting with locating and loading their orders;
Answer phone enquiries regarding order statuses;
Ensure orders are ready for collection and communicate pick up times with customers.
Order Preparation and Dispatch:
Assist customers and delivery drivers in safety loading vehicles;
Prepare small orders for customers to collect, ensuring accuracy and timeliness;
Actuate completed orders in the system and update the delivery board;
Communicate with customers when orders are ready for pickup or delivery.
Logistics and Yard Maintenance:
Maintain a well organised yard for efficient operations and safety;
Perform regular inspections and maintenance of yard equipment and delivery vehicles;
Verify that all products leaving the yard meet the company's quality standards, addressing any defects or issues before despatch.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with procurement, production, and sales teams to ensure despatch deadlines are met;
Coordinate with the factory to confirm completed orders and keep the delivery schedule updated.
ABOUT YOU
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to safely load/unload vehicles (heavy lifting may be required).
Organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Familiarity with dispatch and inventory systems (training provided).
Positive team player with the ability to work under pressure.
