About the role
The Electricity Authority is an independent Crown entity that regulates the electricity market. We are a kaitiaki of electricity. Our purpose is to enhance New Zealander's lives, prosperity and environment through electricity.
We are looking for an innovative Data Engineer who is eager to work in the Azure cloud ecosystem and join us in the Data and Information Management team. Our data platform is built around Databricks and the Delta Lakehouse technology. Knowledge of SQL is required and familiarity with Python would be helpful.
This is a technical role where you will be assisting and enabling data scientists, analysts, and BI specialists. A key focus will be around enhancing and maintaining our Azure Delta Lakehouse, building data and analytics pipelines, and supporting ad hoc analytics.
As the Data Engineer you will also be given the opportunity to collaborate with various specialists within the organisation as we work together to support the Authority.

At least one to three years of proven experience within a cloud-based data and analytics environment
Experience in creating robust solutions with minimal up-front specification of all design elements will be a familiar and comfortable way of working for you
