Core Outpatient Dietitian Diabetes, Acute Allied Health

Full Time, Fixed Term until September 2025 Remuneration as per PSA Allied Health MECA guidelines (between step 3 -10)
We have a great opportunity for a dietitian to join our close knit and innovative outpatient team. Our team is responsible for the nutritional management of clients and families with chronic diseases such as diabetes, chronic kidney disease, obesity or progressing through our bariatric surgery pathway. This role will work clinically in diabetes in a variety of outpatient clinics and with close liaison with the Diabetes MDT and Diabetes in Pregnancy MDT.
The ideal applicant is self-motivated and enjoys working in a flexible and challenging environment, has great verbal and written interpersonal skills, able to think outside the box, efficient in time management, and enjoy working both independently and as part of a strong quality-focussed team. You will also be involved with dietetic student training and be required to participate in service development and project work.
Essential:
  • BCap Sc or BSc, and Post Grad Dip Diet or MSc Dietetics (or equivalent as recognised by the NZ Dietitians Board)
  • NZRD with current annual practicing certificate
  • 1-2 years of clinical experience, preferably with experience in diabetes
  • An ability to relate and communicate clearly on difficult and complex matters with a range of healthcare professionals, patients, and dietetic colleagues
  • Cultural awareness and understanding
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic
