Permanent full time opportunity available - Based in Napier
This is a great opportunity for an innovative communications specialist to join our energetic regional team and help drive positive outcomes for New Zealanders across the East Coast region.
About you
Ideally you will be an experienced communication professional who can manage competing communication demands. You'll have excellent written skills, use plain language to tell our stories and share key messages across a range of channels including digital. Creative design skills are a plus for creating newsletters, videos, and material to support regional campaigns.
You will be a great relationship manager, who can quickly develop and enhance positive relationships internally and in our communities, able to proactively de-escalate reputational and brand risks with ease. There will be some travel around the region, so a full driver's licence is essential.

About the role
Reporting to the Regional Commissioner, you will manage image and reputation related issues including media liaison, stakeholder engagement and events. You will be responsible for the coordination and management of regional responses to requests, and publications production ensuring there is a planned, proactive approach to content.
Drafting and editing information quickly is a key part of the role and you will be a confident and effective communicator. You'll support seasonal campaigns and key initiatives and help drive online engagement. If using your initiative is on your must have list and you enjoy looking for and acting on opportunities and solving problems, this is a position you'll love.
