Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity We have a 1.0 FTE, permanent position available for a highly motivated nurse to work as Clinical Charge Nurse in the newly established state of art, purpose built 41 bed Integrated Stroke Unit (Acute Stroke, rehabilitation). The Clinical Charge Nurse supports / provides / facilitates patient care, patient safety and have a strong patient and family/ whanau focus. The role is responsible for the strategic management of workforce development. As a Clinical Charge Nurse, you will have strong communication skills and will be able to prioritise multiple demands and manage short- and long-term projects. You will support the workforce to develop proficient skills in the delivery of quality care and technical expertise. This is an ideal opportunity to provide Clinical and Professional nursing leadership, Teamwork promotion, coaching of staff and monitoring/evaluating standards of practice. Advanced clinical practice knowledge – at least 3 years at a senior nursing level with demonstrated leadership experience at this level
Commitment to providing excellent care
Strong accountability for resource and budget management
Current NZ Nursing Registration and an annual practicing certificate
A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi responsibility for Maori health improvement.
Highly proficient clinician in nursing practice including skills, knowledge and ability to provide direction for and evaluate nursing care
Demonstrate expertise in setting standards and managing practice to achieve these
Ability to provide coaching and address performance issues
Ideally, you will have completed or working towards a post-graduate qualification and have experience as a senior staff nurse.
