Job Description
We’re looking for Research Assistants to join the Museum’s Audience and Impact (A&IR) team on a casual basis. This role will see you out in the Museum conducting interviews with visitors that will help our A&IR team on deliver their research and evaluation programme. The role typically involves working a few days per month, primarily onsite at Auckland Museum in Parnell.

- Experience and confidence in approaching and speaking with members of the public.
- The ability to engage with a wide variety of people.
- Highly developed and effective oral and written communication.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Experience and confidence using mobile technology.
- Experience working independently with minimal supervision.
- The ability to work several days per month, ideally including weekend work.
- An awareness of the Treaty of Waitangi and its principles.
- Experience undertaking market / social research interviews.
- Experience using digital survey software.
- An interest in museums / cultural heritage and / or social research.
- Additional language skills – Te Reo / Samoan / Mandarin particularly advantageous.
