Delta is recruiting for a Registered Cable Jointer (with full Practicing License) with 3+ years of experience, who is either experienced leading a team or wanting to take the next step into a leadership role, to supervise and coordinate a team of Cable Jointers, and possibly other trade skilled staff, in and around Central Otago to achieve project delivery objectives. Reporting to the Field Manager (Reactive Servies / Projects), this role assists Field and Project Managers with planning and coordinating packages of work and organising, supervising and managing resources on the construction and maintenance of distribution power systems and ancillary equipment.
It is important that you are able to demonstrate your ability to plan and organise work, communicate effectively and interact professionally with end users and clients. In addition, your Health and Safety record will be impeccable.
You will have 3+ years of experience working in the high voltage electricity industry.
Responsibilities include:
- Jointing, installations, and terminations of underground HV/LV power cables (PILC, XLPE, PVC), including OH terminations in various cable technologies, e.g., PILC, XLPE.
- Leading a team of Cable Jointers.
- HV cable testing.
- Operating heavy plant and machinery.
- Adhering to Company Health, Safety and Environment procedures as well as statutory requirements.
- Emergency response on customer distribution and sub-transmission cable assets.
