The opportunity - Join us as an Asphalt Plant Operator in Dunedin.
As an Asphalt Plant Operator, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe operation of our Dunedin asphalt manufacturing plant. This will include active involvement in manufacturing activities, day to day operations, safety, quality and environmental awareness and plant maintenance.
In addition to the above you will:
- Ensure safe and proficient operating of plant & machinery and housekeeping of the plant environment.
- Serve customers efficiently, while maintaining positive relationships with all relevant stakeholders.
- Complete regular inspections and checks on the Asphalt Plant.
- Complete and document checks on the plant and machinery, quality of finished product and daily production records.
- Providing accurate reporting of daily production, material stock, plant quality & safety issues.
- Perform routine checks of the aggregate stockpiles so they are sufficiently stocked.
- Basic plant operation trouble shooting.
- Operate the loader and carry out general maintenance/cleaning around the asphalt plant.
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Have a logical and common-sense approach to operating a computer-controlled plant and being able to resolve plant systems and operations.
- Have experience or exposure to civil plant operations – Asphalt/Bitumen Plant is preferred but not essential. If you have worked in other manufacturing area’s we are keen to discuss.
- Have a NZ class 1 full drivers licence.
- Holding a WTR Endorsement is ideal - however support with licence and training can be provided.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deal with a variety of stakeholders.
- Good computer skills is required for this role.
