Ko te tīma - About your team
The Certifications and Exemptions team carries out a variety of certification and authorisation functions in the area of hazardous substances to support compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.
The team is primarily Wellington-based, sees plenty of variety and encounters challenging topics daily. We work closely with industry and other experts, as well as with key Work Safe teams including legal and policy.
Ō te tūranga - About the role
As an Advisor you will be managing a variety of authorisation processes required under the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations. This includes, exemptions applications, compliance plans and equipment approvals and compliance certifier applications.

Ko tōu ake mahi - What You'll Do:
Process applications and provide recommendations that contribute to a strong and effective compliance certification regime.
Support the wider team to ensure effective risk management and provide timely and accurate responses to external queries.
Assist the team in responding to peaks in the workload.

Ko ngā pukenga ōu - What You'll Bring:
Ability to effectively assess and manage short and long-term risks.
Ability to maintain accurate information and to provide informative reports.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.

Awhe utu - Salary range
As part of our remuneration framework the full salary range for the position is from $80,037 to $105,342. Note: Kiwi Saver/SSRSS employer contribution is additional to/on top of your base salary.
