About the role

We are looking for experienced and highly motivated individuals to join our Operational Policy, Practice and Guidance Unit as either an Advisor or Senior Advisor Operational Policy.

The Advisor Operational Policy plays a crucial role in the Operational Policy team, focusing on reviewing, refining, and developing processes and tools to implement the Authority’s operational policies. They collaborate with operational teams and business groups, supporting the functions as required. They will support the Authorities preparation for the ICAO safety audit, and support the transition to the Authorities new business system.

The Senior Advisor will lead the development of two key operational policies, the cost recovery for chargeable time, and a refresh of the investigation policy. They will engage across the regulatory operational functions to co-create the policies, in order to translate legislative intentions into operational practice.

Both positions are fixed term based at Wellington National Office with flexible working options available. The salary band for the Advisor role is $72,593 to $100,788 with the mid-range being $83,388 pa and Senior $115,536 to $161,412 with the mid-range being $141,751 pa. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader Authority for the same or similar roles.

What You’ll Bring

We are looking for someone who can plan and lead the development of the Authority’s operational policy materials in support of its regulatory functions. This role will suit someone who has an appropriate tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in operational policy and practice development, preferably in a regulatory environment.
