We have an exciting Activities Coordinator opportunity at our St Kilda Care Home where you will lead a team of four passionate Activity Assistants. We’re looking for someone with a Diversional Therapist Qualification and has at least 2 years of experience leading a team. While this role is naturally suited for someone with coordination experience, it’s also an excellent step up for an Activities Assistant who has held leadership roles in the past and is ready to take the next big step in their career. This is a full-time, permanent role from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, giving you a stable and rewarding work schedule. Duties and Responsibilities
Manage activity plans for residents across rest home and hospital levels of care.
Plan, develop, and lead individualised activity plans for each resident based on the activity assessment outcome, their interests, and preferences.
Ensure our valuable residents are treated with full respect, dignity, and cultural sensitivity.
Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to Bupa Health & Safety policies
Maintain personal and professional development - we have on-site managers who always encourage our staff to up-skill!
Skills and Qualification To be successful in this role, you will enjoy a variety of work and have prior experience in this field, along with an interest in and understanding of the elderly and their needs. In this role, you will have a big impact on the quality of life for our residents.
You’ll have a NZQA (or equivalent) Diversional Therapy (level 4) Certificate (or working towards a DT qualification)
A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar healthcare setting is preferable.
Be able to demonstrate leadership skills with the ability to motivate others.
Have a creative flair to contribute towards a full and varied activities programme and help look after our residents while creating a caring atmosphere.
You are a caring, team player, vibrant, and energetic, with an active interest in organising activities for multiple levels of function and ability.
Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
