About this vacancy
With TMC Physics, an optical expert is responsible for assisting our clients in the design, development, characterization or testing of optical systems. You will develop and maintain numerical models, design and conduct experiments and/or perform data analysis. The experimental setups involve various optical components such as mirrors, lasers, lenses, optical fibers or sensors. You will work in R&D environments on various application areas: projection, illumination, lighting applications, wafer optics, photonics.The work will mainly be conducted in project teams of various (technical) disciplines. It is crucial that you have a good overview of the possible applications of your expertise and that you’re able to motivate this to others.
What we expect from you
- MSc/Ph D in (Applied) Physics or similar education;
- Solid theoretical and experimental experience;
- Several years of industrial experience in the field of LED and laser optics, lighting applications or wafer optics;
- Experience with modeling, numerical methods, data analysis;
- Experience with a combination of the following: Matlab, Zemax, Light Tools, Lab VIEW
- Stress resistant;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to make clear recommendations to clients or suppliers;
- Team player and a strong personality
- Serious motivation for the Employeneurship model of TMC;
